"Du bist Musik" ("You are Music") was the Austrian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1980, performed in German by Blue Danube.
The song was performed first on the night, followed by Turkey's Ajda Pekkan with "Pet'r Oil". At the close of voting, it had received 64 points, placing 8th in a field of 19.
The song is a love ballad, likening the beloved to music - specifically a bewildering array of composers and dance styles. Contest entries have historically name-checked locations and people, however the first verse of this song is generally regarded as the apogee of this tradition.
The song was succeeded as Austrian representative in the 1981 contest by Marty Brem singing "Wenn du da bist". \
